I’m frustrated with pres. Obama myself. I mean I knew he was on this centrist (compromiser) shit during election season, so I’m not as shocked as some, but Afghanistan & the climate change clusterfuck aren’t sitting well with me. Hopefully he’ll grow some brass balls in the next 3 years & stop compromising on matters of such importance.
Where is the leader we thought we were voting for, even if, like Marcus, we were skeptical of pres. O? Why does he simply take industry’s–insurance, finance, military-industrial, petroleum–side on all the major issues? Why doesn’t he lead us toward single-payer healthcare, financial regulation, withdrawal from Afghanistan, necessary limits on carbon production? Is he really just a tool of the establishment who wants re-election above all else, or will he learn that if he wants to make his mark he must, like FDR, rebuke the powers that be and take the side of the people? LOL.
Obama accepting and trying to explain why countries wouldn’t accept legally binding deal on climate change is the biggest copout ever. So fucking disappointing. And while the Dems are already declaring victory on healthcare, I think they’re in for a nasty surprise. I hope Obama enjoys that Nobel Prize because it’ll be his consolation prize as a one term president.
Climate change is a big problem. We should care for whatever we do so we dont destroy the environment else the future generation will suffer a lot.
Take care of the climate….
I watched Pres. O. yesterday tick off a list of his most pressing issues now that healthcare reform has passed, and I listened in vain for any mention of preserving the environment.
